KLEPP – Norwegian company AKVA group ASA has released its preliminary commercial and financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026. The financial report from the aquaculture technology supplier demonstrates a notable acceleration in both operational and commercial profitability, driven by strong project execution in its land-based divisions and a highly favorable product mix within its sea-based segment.

According to official information distributed through the Oslo Stock Exchange, group revenues reached 1,189 million Norwegian kroner (NOK), equivalent to approximately 123.2 million US dollars (US$). This figure represents a 2% increase compared to the 1,167 million NOK recorded in the same period of the previous year.

Margins and profitability on the rise

The company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) stood at 179 million NOK (US$ 18.5 million), climbing 23% against the 145 million NOK from the second quarter of 2025. Consequently, the group's EBITDA margin expanded robustly to 15%.

Meanwhile, operating profit (EBIT) for the quarter experienced a 25% surge, reaching 111 million NOK (US$ 11.5 million), significantly outperforming the earnings of 89 million NOK from a year earlier. The consolidated EBIT margin settled at 9.4%.

Order backlog and secured future revenues

Commercial dynamics during the quarter were among the highlights emphasized by the group's management. New contract intake increased by 28% year-on-year, totaling 1,345 million NOK (US$ 139.3 million) between April and June alone.

This commercial drive has pushed the accumulated order backlog to a historical figure of 2,997 million NOK (approximately US$ 310.5 million) at the close of the first half of the year. The land-based technology segment accounts for 46% of this backlog, providing optimal financial visibility for the entity's future growth.

The Chief Executive Officer of AKVA group, Knut Nesse, expressed his satisfaction with the quarterly performance, noting that the second quarter reflected a continuation of the strong commercial momentum across all business segments, providing a solid foundation for the remainder of the year and looking ahead to 2027.

In parallel with the publication of these figures, the board of directors confirmed that it continues to progress with the strategic review of the business, a process aimed at evaluating options to maximize shareholder value which includes a potential sale of the entity or business combinations, with final conclusions expected this autumn. The audited financial balance sheet and definitive full report for the second quarter will be formally published on August 14, 2026.
