Qingdao - Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued an announcement to announce and promote 26 new aquatic product varieties approved in 2022. Among them, there are 6 new aquatic products cultivated by Qingdao institutes, universities and enterprises, and the total number of new aquatic products cultivated by leading and participating in cultivation accounts for about 40%, which shows the advantages and strength of the research and development of new marine aquatic products in Qingdao.

Among the 26 new aquatic product varieties promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the new aquatic products cultivated in Qingdao appeared one by one. According to the list, about 40% of new aquatic products are cultivated by Qingdao Power. Among them, there are 6 new aquatic species cultivated by Qingdao, which are the scallop "Penglai Hong No. 3", the bay scallop "Hai Yifeng 11", and the long oyster "Haida No. 4" cultivated by Ocean University of China. Shandong Province The sea cucumber "Luhai No. 2" cultivated by the Academy of Marine Sciences, the turbot "Duobao No. 2" cultivated by the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, and the long oyster "Frontier" cultivated by Qingdao Frontier Ocean Seed Industry Co., Ltd. number 1".

Ocean University of China, Academy of Ocean Sciences, Institute of Yellow Sea, Qingdao Frontier. It is precisely with the support of these strong marine scientific research units and enterprises that Qingdao has become the research and development site for the five dominant species of algae, shrimp, shellfish, fish and ginseng in China. , leading the continuous development of my country's marine aquaculture industry.

"Qingdao has gathered a number of sea-related universities, institutes and enterprises, such as the Ocean University of China, the Institute of Yellow Seas, the Institute of Oceanography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Qingdao Ruiz Group Co., Ltd. The scientific research institutions engaged in breeding and genetic research account for about 40% of the country. The number of scientific researchers, scientific research units and the number of new aquatic products cultivated ranks first in the country." Wang Yanan, deputy director of the Marine Fisheries Division of Qingdao Ocean Development Bureau, said that the promotion of new aquatic products by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs over the years has never been possible without Qingdao. According to statistics, Qingdao has cultivated about 70 new aquatic product varieties recognized by the state in recent years, accounting for more than a quarter of the national total.

The new aquatic species cultivated in Qingdao has been continuously promoted throughout the country, and it has also promoted the transformation of its own fishery.

"The price of a pair of foreign breeding shrimp is more than 1,000 yuan, which is very expensive, but we have no choice but to buy it. Now we have the breeding shrimp cultivated by the Qingdao breeding team. Not to mention the low price, it also grows fast and does not get sick. You can rest assured to use it." Talking about the changes in the seedling industry in recent years, Li Dayong, a farmer in Changyi, Shandong, who has used the new prawn varieties bred in Qingdao this year, is very happy.

Qingdao researchers observe the cultivated Penaeus vannamei

The shrimp cultured by Li Dayong is called Penaeus vannamei, which has a series of advantages such as large size, fast growth, low nutritional requirements, and a wide range of adaptation to salinity. Since it was introduced from abroad in the 1980s and 1990s, it has quickly become the shrimp species with the largest marine aquaculture area and the highest output in my country, with an annual output of over 1.8 million tons. However, the provenance has almost always been monopolized by foreign countries, which has become a "stuck neck" problem in the development of the domestic Penaeus vannamei industry.

"In the past, farmers had to spend a lot of money to buy foreign seed shrimp, and the shrimp seedlings they bred would degenerate within two years, and the production was characterized by small size and low survival rate. The seed shrimp independently cultivated by our team not only has the characteristics of It has the advantages of fast growth, strong resistance, high growth rate, large egg production, etc., and the cost is reduced by more than 60%. At the same time, the growth rate and survival rate of the shrimp seedlings produced have been improved.” Deputy Huanghai Institute Director Kong Jie said that they have achieved an annual output of 20,000 species of shrimp for two consecutive years. The main breeding areas in the country.

This is a case of the promotion of new aquatic product varieties cultivated in Qingdao. In addition to Penaeus vannamei, the supply of fine seeds of sea cucumber "Shenyou No. 1" accounts for more than 30% of the national demand for seeds. Varieties such as "Yellow Sea Series" Chinese prawns and "Haida Series" long oysters are highly recognized by the industry. In recent years, new varieties of Qingdao aquatic products, which have been promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, have moved to coastal provinces and cities, leading the national aquaculture industry. Here comes the high-quality seed.

"The new aquatic species that Qingdao has cultivated over the years not only go to other provinces and cities, but also promote the transformation and development of Qingdao's fishery." Wang Yanan introduced that in recent years, Qingdao has promoted and applied about 4,000 hectares of fine sea cucumber varieties, shrimp about 3,500 hectares of improved species, 1,500 hectares of improved crab varieties, and 880 hectares of improved fish varieties have effectively increased the coverage of improved varieties and enriched the dining table of citizens.

Facts have proved that only by continuously cultivating new varieties of high-quality aquatic products with independent intellectual property rights, can the provenance be controlled independently and can be firmly established. "During the '14th Five-Year Plan' period, Qingdao will continue to exert its scientific research advantages in the blue seed industry, strengthen the protection and utilization of germplasm resources, and vigorously carry out the research and development of improved aquatic species, focusing on sea cucumbers, oysters, Litopenaeus vannamei, Atlantic salmon, etc. Focus on breeding species, and carry out major technological breakthroughs such as key common technologies and core application technologies, so as to provide support for the seed industry to turn around and promote the development of my country's aquaculture industry." Wang Yanan said.
