From May 1, the South China Sea, East China Sea, Yellow Sea, Bohai Sea and other waters will be closed for fishing, and the supply of fresh fish and seafood will be affected.

Affected by this, prices for aquatic aquaculture products are expected to rise. However, considering that the impact of the current epidemic is still a bit troublesome, it is still unknown whether the price will rise sharply, and it will ultimately depend on the trend of the epidemic.

On April 25, there were 2,301 new local cases and 15,816 new asymptomatic local infections, involving Shanghai, Jilin, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shandong, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Hainan, Jiangxi, Hebei, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Qinghai, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia. , Liaoning , Anhui, Fujian, Henan, Hunan, Yunnan, Hubei, Tianjin, Guangxi and other places still cover a wide range of areas, including South China, East China, East China, Northeast China , Southwest China and other major aquatic product consumption areas. Among them, Jiangsu and Zhejiang Shanghai have the greatest impact, and the Jilin and Liaoning markets also have a large impact. The impact of the new cases in Jiangxi and Beijing on the North China market in the past two days should not be underestimated. The number of cases in other regions is not large, but local control is also increasing.

Since May in recent years, the price of many farmed fish and shrimp has increased, and many farmers know the law that the "hot market fish" price is good. Especially last year, whether it is special fish or conventional fish, the price increase is very good, grass carp rose to the highest level in history, mandarin fish, sea bass, yellow catfish and other varieties also rose well.

However, the current situation this year is a bit special. The epidemic started in Shanghai in March and there are still no signs of improvement. This has affected all of eastern China and other regions to varying degrees. Along with the epidemic in other regions In general, there is no way to be optimistic about the consumer market during the May Day holidays this year, and the tourism and catering sector will definitely be the most affected.

In the last week before May 1, the prices of aquatic products would increase more or less, and then, when the three days before May 1 approached, the stall wholesalers would be very active in sourcing. The situation this year is completely different. The enthusiasm of wholesalers has been greatly affected. Many people's business has been very poor for months on end. For this May Day, the confidence of many wholesalers has frozen.

As for the fishing ban in coastal areas starting in May, what happens to the price of fish depends mainly on the development of the epidemic. If it can be said that the Shanghai side in May may end or is close to the end, it will also have a very good stimulating effect on the market. If the situation in Shanghai in May is not much better than in April, then it is not ruled out that some varieties even collapse, such as the South American, the white shrimp (vannamei).

At present, the small shed shrimp in Jiangsu has reached the specifications for the market. It can be said that tens of millions of kilograms of small shed shrimp are ready to go. However, due to various factors, the daily circulation entering the market is very small "If it should have entered the market in April. Yes, it will be put on the market in May, and the situation in May is not good, then the shrimp that should be listed in April and May will be put on the market until June, and more and more shrimp will be put into the pond, which will be very scary.”

Relatively speaking, the fish raised in ponds will not be sold after a month or two months delay, at most they will consume feed and the farmers must continue to invest, however, the size of Penaeus vannamei is different. "The pond is getting bigger, which means the risk is getting bigger." In the past two years, the density of small shrimp in Jiangsu has increased more and more, and now the size has reached 30 and 40. "It is best to reduce the density, otherwise it is difficult to bear."

To reduce the risk of storing shrimp in ponds, farmers are also actively trying to find ways to do a lot of work. For example, properly reduce the amount of feed and reduce the growth rate of shrimp in storage ponds; for example, buyers are not highly motivated to collect shrimp, and some farmers try to find ways to call their own dealers to sell them on the market. "Although the price may not be able to sell well, and the procedures are compared is troublesome, but it is also a bit cost-effective, and it also reduces the density of shrimp in the pond." "This year is the most difficult year for the small shrimp industry in Jiangsu, and everyone's life is very sad."
