On the evening of June 12, the Beijing Xinfadi wholesale market detected the new coronavirus from the cutting board of imported salmon during the random inspection by relevant departments. As soon as the news came out, salmon was immediately put on the cusp of public opinion, and a "Japanese restaurant's solemn statement" circulating on Weibo and the circle of friends caused panic among many netizens.

This is shown in a "stern statement" issued by a Japanese store: "The'all selected high-quality imported salmon' previously promoted by our store, after a detailed investigation and tracing back to the source, it was found that a temporary worker in the department was unauthorized. , and published false information, thereby misleading consumers." The "Declaration" also stated that the raw material used in the Japanese store is actually "domestic high-quality red trout."

After verification by reporters, this so-called "statement" was a paragraph invented by netizens, which was widely reposted after being edited and processed by Weibo netizens "selling snack workers". As of press time, this spoof Weibo had nearly 6,000 reposts and liked 24,000. There is currently no Japanese material store publicly issued a similar announcement.

According to the Beiqing Daily report today, Japanese brands such as Matsuzuki Japanese Restaurant, Edo-Masushi Sushi, He Cai Fangxi, and Tokugawa Family have all urgently removed salmon and salmon-related products.

A number of Japanese shops said that the salmon products they sell are directly imported from the airport and have corresponding quarantine certificates, which are currently in a state of suspension.

The authorities, companies and consumers are very sensitive to the entire problem generated by COVID-19, making it difficult to predict whether this situation that affects the salmon is an issue that will disappear in the next few days or will be on the rise.
