Over 5 Million Scallop Juveniles Released into Primorie's Marine Farms

Primorye aquafarmers released more than 5 million juvenile scallops, a valuable and sought-after seafood, into reservoirs for cultivation. The Primorsky territorial department of Rosrybolovstvo summed up the interim results of the release of juvenile scallops and sea cucumbers by marine aquaculture (mariculture) farms into the marine waters of the Primorsky Territory during the implementation of pasture aquaculture this year.
The release season begins in the spring with the opening of navigation of small vessels of the small fleet.

These types of aquatic resources are particularly valuable and are currently not permitted for industrial production in the Primorsky Territory. Only products grown by marine aquaculture enterprises are supplied to the market, both domestic and foreign.
The scallop is a tasty and nutritious sea creature that is constantly in demand in the Russian and foreign markets. Far Eastern sea cucumber, which in some Asian countries is also called sea ginseng, in addition to its taste, has unique healing properties.
In 2023, in Primorye, marifarmers released 23.9 million units during pasture aquaculture. juvenile sea scallop and 10.3 million pcs. juveniles of the Far Eastern sea cucumber.
