Prices

The average price of frozen bluefin tuna (HS 030345010, HS 030345020 and 030346000) at customs in Japan in January amounted to JPY 1,504/kg, a figure that is 65 per cent superior to that in December and 523 per cent higher than that in January 2018.

Markets

In the informed month, a total 121 tonnes of frozen bluefin tuna were imported for a value in Japanese customs for a value amounting to JPY 182 millones, a volume that is 267 per cent higher and 507 per cent higher than in January 2018.

In January 2019 Taiwan sent 50 tonnes of frozen bluefin tuna to Japan, for a value of JPY 114 million.
