Prices

The average price of frozen bluefin (HS 030345010, HS 030345020 and 030346000) imported by Japan in November was JPY 1,486/kg, up 5% on that of October and up 1% on that of the October 2017. During the first eleven months, the average was JPY 1,389/kg, up 5% on that of the same period last year.

Markets

During the month analysed, about 278 tonnes of frozen bluefin were imported, worth almost JPY 413 million, down 75% in volume and down 73% in value on those of October 2017.

During the period, imports reached 9,960 tonnes worth JPY 13,836 million, up 23% in volume and 29% in value on those of the same period in 2017.

In the first first eleven months, Australia sent 7,948 tonnes of frozen bluefin to Japan, worth JPY 10,876 million.
