Active in commercial marine aquaculture and research since 1983, Mr. Juarez has extensive experience in the husbandry, management, and policy aspects of aquaculture. Until recently Lorenzo served as Deputy Director at NOAA’s Office of Aquaculture in Washington, DC. He has worked for several large, international shrimp aquaculture companies, most recently as President of Shrimp Improvement Systems, an international shrimp breeding company based in Florida.
He is a Past President (2009) and a Fellow (2011) of the World Aquaculture Society. He has taught courses in aquaculture at colleges and universities in the USA and Mexico and is the author of three book chapters, 15 peer-reviewed articles, and numerous conference presentations and publications in trade magazines. He has a B.S. from Monterrey Technical Institute, Mexico and a Masters of Aquaculture from Auburn University. |
