Mr. Freeman was raised in Miami, FL. He is a graduate of Duke University (B.A. History and Economics, Cum Laude, 1995) and Stanford University Graduate School of Business (M.B.A., 2001).
After graduating from Duke, Mr. Freeman began his career with Nationsbanc Capital Markets, where he was a financial analyst in their real estate investment banking practice.
Later, Mr. Freeman worked as an associate supporting the private equity investment efforts of MSD Capital, Michael Dell’s private investment firm, and Westbrook Partners, a real-estate focused investment firm with more than $3 billion of assets under management.
In 2005, Mr. Freeman worked for Fremont Partners, a San Francisco-based private equity firm. At Fremont Partners, Mr. Freeman solicited, evaluated, structured, negotiated and harvested investments in a wide variety of companies in the consumer products, building products, health care and business services sectors.
Mr. Freeman joined the predecessor firm in 2005.
