Dr. Hiu is the Chief Technology Officer of Naturxan LLC, and is the current President and Chief Technology Officer of Igene Biotechnology, Inc. At Igene, he has served as Chief Technology Officer since 2002, and has served as President of the Company since 1999. Joining Igene in 1986 as a Senior Scientist, in strain development, he was appointed Director of Research and Development and member of the Board of Directors in 1990.
Dr. Hiu received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine in 1977. He subsequently studied microbiology at Oregon State University where he received his doctoral degree in 1984. From 1984 to 1986 he served as a postdoctoral Research Associate at Virginia Tech conducting research on the microbial physiology of anaerobic bacteria.
