Mr. Anton is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.S., Chemistry).
After graduating from Notre Dame, Mr. Anton began his career at Ralston Purina and Nabisco Brands Corporations holding various management and executive roles.
In 1983, Mr. Anton co-founded Carlin Foods Corporation and from 1990 to 1992 served as Chairman of Carlin Investment Corporation, investing in food and specialty chemical firms.
In 1992, Mr. Anton was Ghirardelli Chocolate Company’s Chairman, CEO and co-owner. He led the acquisition of Ghirardelli in 1992 and was responsible for revitalizing the company's brand, marketing programs and growth prior to transitioning Ghirardelli to new ownership.
In 2001, Mr. Anton joined Fremont Partners as a Senior Advisory Director and was instrumental in the acquisition and successful divestiture of Specialty Brands Inc.
Mr. Anton joined the firm in 2005 as an Operating Director.
Mr. Anton is currently Chairman of the Board of WireCo WorldGroup, a member of the boards of Icicle Seafoods, Inc, Con-way, Inc. and Basic American Foods, and active on the Advisory Boards of Notre Dame’s College of Science, and the University of San Francisco’s Business School. |
