John began his career at Shetland Catch at the age of 17. He spent the summer of 1989 working in the factory. What started off as a summer holiday job soon turned into a permanent position. In June 1990, John began working full time as a Quality Control Inspector. In 1992, John started working in the sales department as a Sales Executive. He was promoted to sales manager in 1995.
John holds a Diploma in Professional Sales from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and is a Chartered Marketer.
