FOOD INDUSTRY SALICA was created in 1990 following the merger of two canning Bermeo with long family traditions and Astorquiza Campos, in order to create a new modern production facility and competitive. SALICA belongs to the Basque Albacore tuna, which has the largest tuna fleet in Europe: 15 large ships and five merchant ships, capturing over 100,000 tons and fishing in the three areas of global fisheries: Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans.
In 1999, establishing SALICA FROZEN FOODS, a subsidiary located in Galicia dedicated exclusively to the production of frozen tuna. Betting on the potential of this new company, in 2004, opens its new production plant of 6,000 m2.
At present we sell various brands in terms of channel that are addressed. Thus, for large retailers, we present the line of Canned Campos, with Bonito, Yellowfin Tuna and Specialities (clams, cockles, mussels, razor clams, tuna and dishes preparations). For the hotel industry, our brand is Salica, focused on the Light Tuna in industrial formats. Bachi, is the company specialized in canned tuna for both domestic consumption and for the Hospitality Industry.
