Danish Aquaculture is the trade association for the Danish breeding business. Our members are feed companies, breeders - fish farming, fish, eels and mussels - and fish exporters and processing factories. We cover the entire value chain from "sea to table".
We are working to ensure our members optimal frame and marketing strategies so that they can breed and sell good and healthy fish to a growing market, and it implies in particular that we:
Representing the industry with key stakeholders
Advisor members include professional issues and relevant legislation
Participates actively in scientific projects and disseminate relevant technical and commercial knowledge
Working to raise awareness of the profession
We have approx. 150 members, and they produced in 2008 approx. 42,000 tons of seafood to a first value of approx. 850 million. £ majority exported to many countries, and in 2008 we exported about. 1.1 billion.
Our secretariat is located on Ferskvandscentret in Silkeborg.
