AquaVitae, an international collaboration project in which companies and researchers collaborate to develop products that improve all chains of the aquaculture process in the Atlantic Ocean
A total of 35 industry and research partners from 15 countries, spread across four continents, participate in the project. In addition to Europe, prototypes are developed for the industry in countries bordering the Atlantic Ocean, including Brazil and South Africa.
The purpose of this program is to introduce new low trophic level species, products and processes in marine aquaculture value chains throughout the Atlantic, and five value chains have been chosen for the development of innovations: macroalgae, 'aquaculture multitrophic integrated '(AMTI), species of echinoderms (for example, sea urchins), molluscs and low trophic level fish.
