The Severnaya Shipyard (the first name – “Putilovskaya”) was established on the 14th of November 1912. The yard is one of the leading enterprises of the Russian defense industry. During the centenary history of activity was built about 600 surface vessels and commercial ships for Russian Navy and civilian fleets, including missile cruisers, antiaircraft ships, major anti-submarine ships and torpedo boat destroyers, passengers and dry-cargo ships, container ships, ro-ro, dry bulk carriers, tugs, supply vessels, ferries and floating docks.
Nowadays stock of orders of the yard includes serial production of such classes as Corvette and Frigate, and also other vessels for different purposes.
Main trends of activity:
• serial production of military ships of such classes as Corvette, Frigate, Destroyer, Spetial-purpouse ships, Supply vessels for Russian Navy;
• repair and modernization of military ships for Russian Navy;
• construction, maintenance and modernization of military ships for Foreign Navy;
• commercial shipbuilding for domestic and foreing markets.
