Galician Marine Aquaculture, S.L. is a pioneer in Spain in the development of the cultivation of abalone or abalone, highly demanded gastropod mollusc in the Asian market. Currently the company is processing permits and authorizations to build its plant in cultivation on a plot of over 25,000 m 2 near the town of Muros.
The company's goal over the medium term is to consolidate its presence in a new productive sector and contribute to the diversification of regional and national aquaculture, and long-term position as European leader in volume production of abalone and point of reference for this activity in Spain.
Galician Marine Aquaculture, SL rated company is a IEBT (Technology-Based Initiative) and winning the 1st prize in the Competition III Business Initiatives of the University of Santiago de Compostela in Technology-Based Projects Phase.
The company began operations in January 2004. The promoter group and founders of the company consists of four professionals, a Ph.D. in Biology, a graduate in Biology, an aquaculture engineer and engineer in chemistry. Today the capital of the company have added two new partners, Rosp Corunna y Frigoríficos Fandiño.
