The merger between Pesquera Bio Bio and Camanchaca has allowed the new company recently established, Camanchaca Pesca Sur SA, obtain significant synergies and improved fleet operations, management of production plants and administrative synergies of the business of pelagic capture fisheries . Additionally, the merger allowed companies to combine two very oriented to the use of fish for human consumption.
Among the major highlights Camanchaca assets contributed by a fleet of seven ships and two modern plants located in Coronel (canning and fish meal and oil), which were transferred to Camanchaca Fishing South. By Pesquera Bio Bio, the main assets include vessels operating in the central-south and in Region IV and III, ground flour and fish oil, rebuilt after the earthquake, and frozen fish plant.
Fishing South Camanchaca becomes the third largest player in the south central region and the second nationwide in terms of fishing, adding now almost 20% of the mackerel and pilchard quotas of the central south.
