Since its formation in 1997, CeDePesca managed to install some important issues in the media and in the fields of local and national decision. Over a decade, the focus of the organization changed from local to international, and today is a projection Latin American NGOs. In the words of its founder, this growth is due to CeDePesca is "an NGO dedicated to working with the fishing industry, whether artisanal or industrial, whether private or public, to generate synergies that motoric a change towards sustainability where everybody wins."
