Sardimar started in 1975 doing business in Costa Rica with canned sardines. Months later it incorporated tuna and was successful with both.
The success obtained with said products motivated the Company to venture in the marketing of canned seafood. Later, it continued to innovate with flavor variety as well as with new presentations and new product lines, for example, products for pets. This great experience has led Sardimar to currently market products in 29 countries all over the world, based on:
Commercial leadership
Innovation and Competitiveness
Satisfaying consumer needs
In 2011 the company decided to change its name from Sardimar to Alimentos Prosalud, keeping Sardimar as one of its main brands. As a corporation the company has strong growth plans and to get involved into new foods and businesses, including healthy foods in the next few years, therefore a new corporate name will expand its horizon beyond seafood products alone.
