Frime is the leading company in the sale of MSC tuna in Europe, with a volume of 40,000MT per year. The company, located in Barcelona and chaired by Salvador Ramon, invoices €150M and has a workforce of more than 500 employees distributed among the five processing plants. The plants are dedicated to the production of cephalopods and the production of swordfish and tuna in portions certified with IFS and MSC, the most recent addition being a new 8,500 m2 factory in La Roca del Vallés (Barcelona).
Frime has become a member of the United Nations Global Compact, the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world. There are currently more than 13,500 affiliated entities in more than 165 countries and it has 68 local networks. Adhering to the Global Compact implies that FRIME undertakes to align its operations with Ten Universally Accepted Principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment and the fight against corruption, and to adopt measures in support of the objectives of the United Nations embodied, currently , in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
