Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam is mainly focused on building fishing vessels. In addition we are involved in the design and construction of seagoing workboats such as buoy laying and offshore vessels. We have an extensive staff with a broad experience in designing tailor-made vessels and winches to meet the specific requirements of our customers. Maaskant makes use of its own well-equipped engineering works to provide the optimum 24-hour service. Our three dry docks are fully equipped to service larger vessels as well.
We started out as a repair company for local vessels. In 1948 Piet Maaskant and his two sons established their repair company for the town's mussel and shrimp fleet. For years we maintained winches and now we manufacture our own range of winches. Thanks to creativity and inventiveness, Maaskant is at the forefront of this technology. We also produce, repair and maintain custom-made winches according to the specifications of our customers. Our yard has grown to become a multidisciplinary and internationally oriented shipyard and in 1984 Maaskant Shipyards joined the Damen Shipyards Group. It’s one of the leading shipyards and has its own extensive resourced machine shops, including and the provision of an optimal 24-hours service.
