It all started with a curious twenty-year-old who built a hobby smoker out of a broken refrigerator and started smoking fish in his parent's garden.
Just over 50 years after the first tentative experiments with fish smoking, Korshags is today one of the leading smokehouses in Sweden. The factory is 2 km from the residential area where it all began and we still smoke fish in the traditional way, with freshly chipped alder wood and juniper berries, and bury the salmon by hand according to the family's original recipe. Really good ingredients such as brand-fresh, sustainably farmed salmon and hand-filed mackerel are the foundation of the business. Solid craftsmanship, countless tastings and a focus on the small details that make a difference are obvious to us, just as all production takes place locally in Falkenberg. Our goal is that our products should be as easy to prepare as they are easy to like.
