In April 2009 Preferred Freezer Services brought on board Timothy McLellan to serve as the Managing Director of International Business Development. Mr. McLellan’s responsibility is to globally promote and establish the company's core business model of designing, building and operating refrigerated warehouse facilities. His initial focus will be on Asia, beginning with Vietnam and China, and the MENA region.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. McLellan served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Empress International Ltd., a leading U.S. importer and marketer of frozen seafood products. Mr. McLellan has more than 28 years of experience in sales, procurement, supply-chain management and business development in both domestic and international markets. His understanding of logistics and warehousing from a customer’s perspective is a valuable asset to the company. His previous leadership positions include: National Sales Manager for ConAgra Foods - Seafood Division; VP Sales and Marketing for Seafood Marketing Specialists, a procurement arm for US Foodservice; Director of Sales & International Business Development for Kolhoz Vostok-1/North Pacific Corp, a Russian company based in the U.S.; and Sales Manager for a Hawaii-based broadline foodservice distributor. Mr. McLellan’s background includes extensive overseas travels to establish foreign sales offices and oversee business development projects in Asia, Europe, Australia and Japan, along with procurement initiatives in Mexico and Central/South America.
As business continues its global expansion, Mr. McLellan will also represent the company’s awareness of and response to corporate social responsibilities, as expressed through affiliations with organizations such as the National Fisheries Institute and the Global Aquaculture Alliance.
