Carrying on the Gorton family legacy, Kim represents the third generation of Gortons at Slade Gorton and the fifth generation of Gortons in the industry. After joining the Company in 1989 as a key account manager, she left her position to obtain an MBA from Harvard Business School. Since returning to the Company in 1994, Kim has held positions in marketing, business development and corporate planning. Experiencing the business from all sides helped to prepare Kim for her current role leading the Company. Kim’s passion for the business is evident in the leadership role Slade Gorton has taken in driving positive industry change in sustainability, food safety, economic integrity and innovation. She serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the National Fisheries Institute, as well as on the Boards of The Gulf of Maine Research Institute and North Atlantic, Inc. She is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.
