Dylan grew up with a love of fishing. In 1999, he completed his Bachelor of Applied Science in Fisheries Management at the Australian Maritime College in Tasmania. After university, his first job was with the Australian Fisheries Management Authority as a Management Officer in the Northern Prawn Fishery, Coral Sea Fishery and Antarctic Fisheries.
In 2002, Dylan started work with Austral Fisheries but was quickly sent offshore for induction and valuable sea time on board Austral vessels. This time was spent in the Northern Prawn Fishery packing prawns, fishing for Orange roughy & Alfonsino in the Indian ocean and finally further south in Australia’s sub-Antarctic on the Austral Leader packing Patagonian toothfish.
Dylan is approaching his 10th year at Austral Fisheries and is now responsible for Austral’s Sales & Marketing with a sales portfolio of AUD$60 Million per annum. Sales are spread far & wide, with exports of Patagonian toothfish to Japan, China and USA; Tiger prawns to Japan, China and Taiwan; Endeavour prawns to Hong Kong; and Banana prawns to Australian supermarkets.
Dylan is a mad keen recreational angler and when not selling seafood can be found chasing pelagics off Perth in his 25ft centre console! |
