What is The Trap
and Buoy Shop?
Perhaps the most unusual aspect of Eastport Lobster and Fish Company is
our Trap and Buoy Shop. Here, while you watch, skilled carpenters build
lobster traps (both wire and wooden varieties) for sale to commercial lobstermen
as well as to visitors (at the sames prices!) They also make and paint -
in the most colorful combinations you've ever seen - cedar buoys complete
with "pick-up" sticks.
Your Very Own Personalized Buoy!
Let us "personalize" a buoy for you and your family - a sort
of fisherman's "coat of arms!". We also stock rolls of line, various
ropes, and styrofoam buoys which are the preferred choice of our commercial
fisherman customers. We also sell bait for lobster traps which probably
wouldn't be of much interest to the general public - pretty smelly too!
We also offer sets to convert traps into the traditional coffee tables. Cutting boards are another favorite - particularly for cutting and slicing our smoked salmon products - both Maine Country and New York Deli styles.
