The Projeto Pacu develop in the moment, research works and experiments applicated to the raise and grow of Pintado and Piraputanga getting results technically and economically viable that will be brought to the undertaker in this segment offering technical support required for the increasing of the domestic market. The purpose of the enterprise is to keep its position in the transformation of fishfarming in Brazil in compatible activity to the market’s potential making good use of the natural resource founded in Brazil. Since 1992, Projeto Pacu has established new techniques in the reproduction of non-scale fishes, notably the Pintado (Pseudoplatystoma coruscans) and the Cachara (Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum) and has become the world leader in the production of those species in captivity with results specifically directed towards commercial production, opening great possibilities of growth for the national Aquiculture market. In 1993, was developed the technique for the reproduction of Pirarara - Red Tail Cat -(Phractocephalus hemilliopterus) and as of now, Projeto Pacu is the only producer in the world of this species. 1994 was the year dedicated to Dourado (Salminus maxilosus) when then started its production in a commercial way, kept annually. The Dourado is considered the must sportive fish from the Latin America. In 1996, as a result of new research, it was introduced to the market in commercial scale the Piraputanga - Red Tail Brycon - (Brycon hillary). Noble fish from the Pantanal region, beautiful and sportive, its meat color alike the salmon and very refined taste, being considered the "tropical trout". Recent research show also that this fish fatten very fast, easing its creation in captivity, indicating a great potential in the cultivation destined to the food production.
