Projeto Pacu is a Brazilian enterprise specialized in reproduction of South
American fishes. For many years, Projeto Pacu has been involved in the
research and development of technology directed towards the production
of fingerlings, large fishes and new species native from Pantanal and Amazon,
regions witch offer the greatest biodiversity of the world. The high degree
of specialization of Projeto Pacu has enable the foresight of the perspectives
and potentialities in the exploration of new species in Aquiculture. Having
the leadership in the utilization of reproductive technology of species
not yet in the marketplace, this enterprise currently maintains cooperation
agreements with universities and research centers in Brazil for the exchange
of materials and know-how. The quality of the species produced is guaranteed
by the implementation of proprietary techniques and the utilization of
reproductive specimens captured in the wild.

Nowadays expressive part of fingerlings produced by Projeto Pacu is sold in the international market. They�re exported to countries like Japan, Germany and United States as ornamental fish. In the national market the production is destined to processing food. Great part of fresh water fish that nowadays is offered to the consumer market in Brazil, come from fishing in the wild. This situation benefits the development of fishfarming, and also attend the worldwide necessity of nourishment, imply directly to environmental gain, once the production in fihfarming substitutes the necessity of catching in the wild.
