Non-government organisation Food & Water Watch has released a new report presenting unique data with which it intends to demonstrate how the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal will undermine seafood safety in the United States.
In this report, called Toxic Buffet: How the TPP Trades Away Seafood Safety, the NGO reveals that while the TPP would cost US jobs, worsen growing economic inequality and give foreign companies the power to sue the US over environmental and public health laws, its effects will be felt even closer to home if passed: on Americans’ dinner plates.
