Ever since the export of salted fish was deregulated in January 1992, Seifur Ltd. has been a leading firm in the export of salted fish

Seifur works in close contact with several saltfish producers, and has holdings in others. All products are submitted to exhaustive quality control, to be able to ensure standard quality. We like to work in close contact with our business partners, and to make sure that they receive the product when, how and where they need it.

Seifur Ltd. offers a wide variety of products of salted fish. The salted fish is processed from fresh fish, of the very best Icelandic quality. The fish is mostly medium cured, which means it is between 15 and 20 days old. To compensate for diminishing weight, all our products are packed with a 4% overweight. If desired we can also provide defrosted fish and fish of other origin than Icelandic.



Cod, Gadus morhua

Salted and splitted cod
Quality Categories: Spig (Spain, Italy, Greece)=A,B and C Port (Portugal) = AB and CD. The difference between Spig and Port quality is that Port quality is less expensive, since the fish is not as white as the Spig quality.
Sizes:In kg 400/500, 500/800, 800/1200, 1200/1700, 1700/2700, 2700/4000, 4000/+
Packed: Spig: 2700/4000 and 4000/+ in boxes of 50kg. The rest in boxes of 25 kg. Also available in boxes of 400kg. Port: In boxes of 800kg or 1000kg. Also available on pallets, covered with plastic.

Salted Cod fillets.
Normally wings are cut off, but skin and bone kept on. Other versions also available.

Wings: Are cut off when fillets are made. Packed in boxes or on pallets.
Loins: Taken from the spine of the fish. Packed in boxes or barrels.
Cheeks: Packed in barrels.
Tongues: Packed in barrels.
Faces: Packed on pallets, covered with plastic.

For Blue Ling and Tusk there is only one quality category ABCD.

Salted Fillets
Available with or without the skin and wings. Wings are normally cut off.
Quality Categories: A, B and C.
