| At the beginning of this century, coastal dwellers
in Mar del Plata could see every day on tlhe horizon a number of rouhghly
built wooden boats batling the roug seas. Luis Valastro, a humble italian
inmigrant was one of the hardy fishermen on these vessels. His tenacity
and efforts enabled him, in 1965, to create and develop what would later
become one of the leading fishing companies of Argentina. During global economic changes, and specially into the fishing industry, it is necesary for the companies to reorganize. Valastro, a name that started the new undertaking, today could appear as a limit in the process of enlargment and integration of the company. The philosopy that allowed the attained growth and the permanent presence in the market of our products will be mirrored in the new brand Giorno, whith all the background of tradition and the acknowledgment of the most important countries in the world. |
