Meanwhile, the Agricultural Defense and Inspection Agency of the second state involved published an official ordinance suspending the commercialization of aquaculture products that could pose biological risks to the local fauna. This regulation, specifically targeting batches derived from Vietnamese tilapia imports, aims to strengthen epidemiological barriers and protect the integrity of the area's fish farms.

An expanding trend in the Brazilian market

Discontent over the volume of imports coming from Southeast Asia has begun to gain traction across other regional administrations. According to reports from Peixe BR, the governments of key districts such as Mato Grosso and Bahia are already analyzing the technical and legal feasibility of implementing similar initiatives designed to protect the local fish farming value chain.

The sector association concluded by stating that it will maintain permanent monitoring over the development of these institutional discussions, aiming to continue coordinating actions alongside public bodies to ensure a transparent, balanced, and secure competitive framework for all tilapia producers in the nation.
