Strong Far East Catches Drive Significant Volume, While Other Basins Show Varied Performance Compared to 2024.
Russia's total catch of aquatic bioresources has surpassed 1.7 million tons since the beginning of the year, according to data from the Federal Agency for Fisheries' (Federal Service for Fisheries and Oceanography, FSMS) industry monitoring system. As of the latest reporting period, the total volume reached 1,711 thousand tons.

The Far Eastern basin continues to be the primary contributor, accounting for 1,399.9 thousand tons. This includes significant volumes of:
- Pollock: 1,040.1 thousand tons
- Cod: 46.6 thousand tons
- Pacific Herring: 229.9 thousand tons
The Northern basin reported a total catch of 107.7 thousand tons, with:
- Cod: 69.3 thousand tons
- Haddock: 19.4 thousand tons (a slight increase of 0.1 thousand tons compared to the same period in 2024).
In the Western basin, the total catch reached 32.6 thousand tons, featuring:
- Sprat (kilka): 21.7 thousand tons (up 1.2 thousand tons from the 2024 level)
- Baltic Herring (sprat): 9.8 thousand tons
The Azov-Black Sea basin demonstrated notable growth, with a total catch of 15.2 thousand tons, representing a 30.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This was largely driven by:
- Anchovy: 12.6 thousand tons (a significant increase of 3.3 thousand tons compared to 2024).
The Volga-Caspian basin reported a catch of 28.7 thousand tons, including:
- Sprat: 21.3 thousand tons (an increase of 1.4 thousand tons compared to the 2024 level)
- Ordinary Fish Species: 3.6 thousand tons

The Russian fleet operating in the exclusive economic zones of foreign states, conventional fishing areas, and the open part of the World Ocean yielded 120.4 thousand tons, marking a substantial increase of 35.8 thousand tons or 42.3% compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
