Russian Fish Catch Exceeds 1.2 Million Tons

According to the Federal Agency for Fisheries (Federal Service for Fisheries and Oceanography) industry monitoring system, Russian fishermen have harvested 1,275.7 thousand metric tons of aquatic biological resources.

Regional Breakdown:

• Far Eastern Basin: 1,067.3 thousand metric tons.
  • Pollock: 833.1 thousand metric tons.
    • Specifically within the Okhotsk Sea (Pollock Season 2025): 653.7 thousand metric tons.
  • Cod: 36.1 thousand metric tons.
  • Pacific Herring: 143.8 thousand metric tons (up 8.9 thousand metric tons from 2024).
• Northern Basin: 77.7 thousand metric tons.
  • Cod: 54.7 thousand metric tons.
  • Haddock: 12.1 thousand metric tons.
• Western Basin: 23.4 thousand metric tons (up 2% from 2024).
  • Sprat: 15.3 thousand metric tons (up 0.4 thousand metric tons from 2024).
  • Baltic Herring: 7.7 thousand metric tons (up 0.7 thousand metric tons from 2024).
• Azov-Black Sea Basin: 12.7 thousand metric tons (up 26.1% from 2024).
  • Anchovy: 11.5 thousand metric tons (up 2.4 thousand metric tons from 2024).
• Volga-Caspian Basin: 21.4 thousand metric tons (up 10.7% from 2024).
  • Sprat: 19.6 thousand metric tons (up 2.9 thousand metric tons from 2024).
• International Waters: 69.6 thousand metric tons (up 30.7 thousand metric tons, or 79.1%, from 2024).

Operational Details (Okhotsk Sea, within the Far Eastern Basin):

• Last week, 79 large-tonnage and 8 medium-tonnage fishing vessels operated in the Sea of Okhotsk.
• 23 transport vessels supported fishing operations.
• Fresh catches are being delivered to ports.
• Currently, 34 vessels carrying 56 thousand metric tons of fish products are en route.
• Refrigeration capacity utilization in Primorsky Krai is at 33%.
