The results of the prospection carried out since the beginning of the week allowed us to conclude that the biological conditions of the resource are given to carry out the opening of the Pleoticus muelleri fishery. It will be in three subareas starting at 7:00 today, Friday, June 2. Bad weather would delay the beginning of the harvest.
The news was eagerly awaited by the different crews that were already enlisted in the country's ports, since most of the shrimp vessels have been inactive for months.

The opening of waters under national jurisdiction will be done in Subareas 13, 15 and 16, where the indicators of abundance, commercial size and low presence of accompanying species, allowed INIDEP to recommend the authorization of commercial fishing in those sectors; the day before, Subarea 14 had been closed early, since 80% of the sets had been almost nil, and bycatch was observed.
The Undersecretariat of Fisheries of the Nation, through the National Directorate for Fisheries Coordination and Inspection, informed the Argentine Naval Prefecture that as of this Friday the shrimp fishery will be enabled in Subareas 13, 15 and 16.

The management measure is given within the framework of the Prawn (Pleoticus Muelleri) Prospecting carried out in Sub-areas No. 13, defined between parallels 45° and 46° S and meridians 63° and 64° W; Sub-area No. 15 between parallels 46° and 47° S and meridians 63° and 64° W; and Sub-area No. 16 between parallels 46° and 47° S and meridians 62° and 63° W.
Based on the favorable results on the main biological indicators of the survey, reported by the National Institute for Fisheries Research and Development (INIDEP) and in accordance with the recommendation made by said Institute, the authorization for commercial shrimp fishing has been established. (Pleoticus Muelleri) in the aforementioned Sub-areas No. 13, 15 and 16, as of Friday, June 2 of this year.
It should be noted that the entry of fishing vessels is authorized from midnight on Friday, to facilitate the echoic search activity for shrimp concentrations, with a start time for fishing operations from 7:00.
Everything seems to indicate that the delay in the departure of ships in the port of Mar del Plata, from the conflict generated by the settlement of salaries at the value of the 'fishing dollar', would come to an end and they would begin to join the fishing zone.
