Ministry authorizes the start of the First Fishing Season 2021 of 2,509,000 tons of anchovy

Article 1.- Start of the First Fishing Season 2021 in the North Zone - Central Peru

Authorize the start of the First Fishing Season 2021 of the anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus) resource, in the maritime area between the extreme north of the Peruvian maritime domain and 16 ° 00'LS, having to conclude a Once the Maximum Total Allowable Catch Limit of the North - Central Zone (LMTCP North - Center) has been reached, or, failing that, when the Peruvian Sea Institute - IMARPE recommends it due to environmental or biological circumstances.

The start of the First Fishing Season 2021 is from the date of conclusion of the exploratory fishing authorized in the First Transitory Complementary Provision of this Ministerial Resolution, without prejudice to the fact that, as a result of the aforementioned exploratory fishing process, IMARPE Recommend establishing, among others, total or partial protection measures for the juvenile fraction, as appropriate.



Article 2.- Maximum Total Allowable Catch Limit of the First Fishing Season 2021 of the North Zone - Central Peru


The Maximum Total Allowable Catch Limit of the North-Central Zone (LMTCP North-Central) of the anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus) resources for indirect human consumption, corresponding to the First Fishing Season 2021 of the North Zone - Center established in article 1 of this Ministerial Resolution, is two million five hundred nine thousand (2'509,000) tons.

Article 3.- Carrying out extractive activities of fishing vessels


Fishing vessels authorized to carry out extractive activities during this fishing season can only carry out fishing activities within the framework of this Ministerial Resolution, according to the Maximum Catch Limit per Vessel of the North-Central Zone (LMCE North-Central ), whose list is published by means of a Directorial Resolution of the General Directorate of Fisheries for Direct and Indirect Human Consumption of the Vice-Ministerial Office of Fisheries and Aquaculture.

For the calculation of the North-Central LMCE, the provisions of Article 12 of the Regulation of Legislative Decree No. 1084, Law on Maximum Catch Limits per Vessel, approved by Supreme Decree No. 021-2008-PRODUCE, will be taken into account.
