Currently, the salmon catch in the Far East amounted to about 538 thousand tons, exceeding the indicators of 2020 by 20%. This is the third result in the history of Russian fishing.
Salmon roe 'caviar' (ikura) production from January to September 2021 amounted to 20.7 thousand tons, which is twice as much as in 2020 - 9.9 thousand tons. According to experts, the capacity of the domestic market for red caviar is about 16-17.5 thousand tons. Thus, already in three quarters, the production of salmon roe has exceeded this level by 25%.
