OPPF-4 and ACOPEVI Sign Agreement to Unify Labeling, Traceability, and Competitiveness of Fish in the Supply Chain
VIGO — The Organization of Fresh Fish Producers of the Port of Vigo (OPPF-4) and the Association of Fish Marketers of Vigo (ACOPEVI) sealed a collaboration agreement to extend and harmonize the use of the Fresco&Salvaje (Fresh & Wild) seal in the Port of Vigo.

The agreement, signed on 09/30/2025, aims to consolidate the brand throughout the entire supply chain, from the fish market to the final consumer. The initiative seeks to clearly differentiate fresh wild-caught fish from products preserved using other methods, unify the labeling, and strengthen the competitiveness of port operators in national and international markets.
Toward Uniformity and Transparency
SAccording to the presidents of both entities, the agreement will help overcome the current diversity of label formats, which makes it difficult to provide uniform product information and achieve solid positioning.

The main objective of the "freshandwild" project is to enhance the value of fresh fish species by defining a corporate image based on the concept "FRESH AND WILD" and through a set of technological tools and image promotion actions.
The signing ceremony, held this morning, saw the participation of Daniel Castro Gordejuela, representing OPPF-4, and Juan Manuel López, president of ACOPEVI.
As a next step, both parties agreed to draft a joint work plan for the years 2025-2026 that will detail actions and deadlines. Furthermore, the agreement contemplates inviting the Port Authority of Vigo to join as a strategic partner, consolidating the port's commitment as a benchmark for excellence in the trade and distribution of fresh and wild fish.
