Faroese fisheries minister Árni Skaale, in consultation with the Parliament foreign affairs committee, has set the 2022 quota for the Faroe Islands’s fleet.
The quota is set at 155.804 tonnes, equivalent to 19.60% of the 794.920 tonne TAC agreed by coastal states at their meeting in London in October last year.
According to Árni Skaale, negotiations for the 2023 mackerel quota are already in progress and he hopes to see agreement on next year’s fishery.
