The Russian producer of Atlantic salmon and trout "Russian Aquaculture" announced the change of the company's name to INARCTICA. The name “Russian Aquaculture” has been borne by the company since 2015, before that it was called “Russian Sea”.
According to commercial director Konstantin Klinov, the name change is due to the fact that the main production of the company is located in the Arctic. In addition, the rebranding will help convey "the inspiration of the Arctic latitudes to consumers and emphasize the respect for the ecosystem of the Russian north." In addition, the new name is filled with arctic freshness, Klinov notes, and freshness is the main advantage of the company's products on the market.
The INARCTICA report says that work on the rebranding started in 2022, when the manufacturer brought the INARCTICA brand of chilled red fish to the market. The change of the company's name will consolidate the success of the product brand and strengthen marketing communications, according to INARCTICA.
Initially founded in 1997, the group of companies was called "Russian Sea" and was engaged in the import of fish from Norway to Russia. The company has been producing its own fish since 2007. Now INARCTICA breeds fish in the Barents Sea and in the lakes of Karelia.
In the first nine months of 2021, the revenue of Russian Aquaculture amounted to 4.8 billion rubles. This is 2.2 times more than the same period last year. In early 2022, a company belonging to Russian Aquaculture acquired the Kislogubskaya tidal power plant located in the Murmansk region.
