The iconic American restaurant chain, Red Lobster, will begin operations in Puerto Rico. This was announced by Puerto Rican company Restaurant Operators, Inc. (ROI), which will begin the construction of the first Red Lobster restaurant on the island in May.
The project represents an investment of USD 2 million and will create over one hundred jobs.
"As a group we continue to believe and invest in Puerto Rico, bringing novel and innovative consumer choices. Red Lobster meets our criteria and high standards of quality, service, innovation and great taste. We are excited to develop and grow this brand in Puerto Rico," said Dionisio Trigo, president of ROI, in a statement.
Red Lobster is the principal casual dining seafood restaurant company in the United States, with more than 700 restaurants in the country and Canada, and more than 58,000 employees.
The first Red Lobster restaurant to operate in Puerto Rico will be located in Plaza Las Americas mall. It will seat 230 people and its opening is scheduled for December this year.
