US rescinds antidumping duty review on Thai shrimp
(THAILAND, 7/17/2014)
The United States Department of Commerce (DoC) is rescinding the administrative review of the antidumping duty order on certain frozen warmwater shrimp from Thailand for the period 1 February, 2013, through 31 January, 2014.
The ministry informed that in February this year, timely requests were received for an administrative review of this antidumping duty order from the Shrimp Trade Action Committee (the petitioner), the American Shrimp Processors Association (ASPA), and certain individual companies.
According to the Code of Federal Regulation (CRF), the administrative review, in whole or in part, will be rescinded if a party that requested a review withdraws the request within 90 days of the date of publication of notice of initiation of the requested review.
The DoC announced the beginning of the administrative review in April, and as all the parties that had requested it withdrew all requests on 1 July, within the set deadline, the ministry will rescind the process.
The DoC will instruct the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to assess antidumping duties on all appropriate entries.
Antidumping duties shall be assessed at rates equal to the cash deposit of estimated antidumping duties required at the time of entry, or withdrawal from warehouse, for consumption.
The DoC intends to issue appropriate assessment instructions directly to CBP 15 days after the date of publication of this notice in the Federal Register.
Importers were instructed of their responsibility to file a certificate regarding the reimbursement of antidumping duties prior to liquidation of the relevant entries during this review period.
