Bristol Bay Sockeye is Helping Salmon Find Their Way… to the Table

Bristol Bay, Alaska is home to the largest sockeye run in the world, and now a new custom app on Facebook is helping salmon lovers everywhere find this healthy, delicious fish right in their neighborhoods.
After soliciting naming input from the official Bristol Bay Sockeye Facebook community of 11,000+ salmon lovers & fishermen, the new “Sockeye Finder” was launched.

This special app directs fans to restaurants and retailers that carry wild, sustainable sockeye salmon from the abundant Bristol Bay watershed.
How the App Works?
By logging on to Facebook, consumers can FIND IT by simply inputting their location (city, address or zip code) or TAG IT if they want to share the name and address of a restaurant or retail store that sells Bristol Bay Sockeye salmon.
In addition to helping salmon lovers keep an eye out for Bristol Bay Sockeye salmon, the app will also help the region’s fishermen gain a better understanding of where their product is being served and sold.
