At present, in addition to the construction of the national pelagic (squid) fishery base, the base is also responsible for various projects such as the "National Demonstration Base for Prospering the Sea with Science and Technology", "Zhoushan International Pelagic Aquatic Products Trade Center", "Dinghai Pelagic (squid) Fishery Town", and "Northern Dinghai Modern Agricultural Park". The home port for the modernization of pelagic (squid) fishery is built on the basis of the national-level central fishing port - West Wharf Central Fishing Port. The fishing port has an area of ??3.5 square kilometers, an average water depth of more than 10 meters, and can accommodate 1,300 fishing boats anchoring at the same time. At present, there are more than 120 pelagic fishery-related enterprises in the core area of ??the base, including 3 national-level leading enterprises (Zhejiang Dayang Shijia Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Xingye Group Co., Ltd., and Hynixon Group Co., Ltd.), with a cold storage capacity of 300,000 tons ( including under construction). Zhejiang Ocean Family Co., Ltd. is a national key leading enterprise of agricultural industrialization invested and controlled by the famous Wanxiang Group. The headquarters has settled in the base. At the same time, the base has signed an agreement with Ocean Family Ocean Food Manufacturing Industry Cluster Project with Ocean Family. The project covers an area of 320 mu, the project construction is expected to be completed within 5 years; Zhejiang Xingye Group Co., Ltd. is a large-scale joint venture between the first state-owned Zhoushan Second Ocean Fishery Company in mainland China to successfully utilize foreign capital and Maruha Co., Ltd., a famous Japanese aquatic enterprise. The research institute belongs to Zhejiang Key Enterprise Research Institute, relying on Hynixon Group, With the concept of developing deep-sea health from marine organisms, the development of marine drugs and marine biological functional health care products is the key scientific research work to support Hynixon's technological competitiveness in market product development. Zhongnongfa Zhouyu Pearl Garden project is a processing project of Zhouyu Company. The project covers an area of ??107.5 mu and has a total investment of 250 million yuan. The project started in 2017 and is expected to be completed in 2019.

The ocean-going shipbuilding and repairing center, according to the layout of the three core clusters of the Zhoushan shipbuilding industry, improves the technical level of ocean-going shipbuilding and repairing, vigorously supports the transformation and upgrading of shipbuilding companies that intend to build ocean-going fishing boats, and builds Daishan, Dinghai and Putuo. At the beginning of 2017, the base signed contracts with 9 fishing boat repairing and building enterprises with certain industrial scale, qualifications and technical strength in the city. With the purpose of "resource sharing, group development, and mutual benefit", it strives to build a reasonable layout, strong technology, complete supporting facilities, and management. A standardized and effective service platform for the deep-water fishery shipbuilding and shipbuilding industry will accelerate the construction of the Zhoushan National Pelagic Fishery Base.

The goal of the base construction is that by 2020, the scale of the pelagic fishing fleet will reach 600, the pelagic production volume will be 600,000 tons, the base pelagic fish import volume will be 800,000 tons, and the output value of pelagic fishing and related services will be 10 billion yuan.
