The Philosofish operation comprises 27 distinct farm parks, moored at depths of between 30 and 70 metres. Approximately 16,000 tons of sea bass and sea bream are produced per annum.
The parks are located in Central Greece (Evia Island & Fthiotida) and the Dodecanese (Rhodes Island).
The units include 4 hatcheries producing 100ml fingerlings per year, 4 processing/packaging stations and 5,000 m2 of enclosed storage facilities.
The fish-farming activities are supported by central feeding stations and silos stocked with top-quality fish feed. Twenty two barges and pontoons support daily harvesting, and are available for supplementary work within the parks, such as net removal & renewal. Several smaller vessels are used for personnel transport and auxiliary work.
The proximity of the cages to the packaging units, guarantees the freshness of our product. Transportation is handled by refrigerated trucks, trucks dedicated to fish feed and fry, as well as multi-purpose trucks.
Ours is an industry of very exacting standards.
Which is why we’re proud to have acquired the following:
Certified by MICRON2 according to the BRC quality standards, obtaining the Certification BRC-3495675/24-2-2016
Certified by TUV-AUSTRIA according to the IFS quality standards, obtaining the Certification IFS-09013079/3-3-2016 FDA Facility Registration Number for the US market
