CETMAR Foundation is promoted by the Galician regional government (Department of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs and General Directorate of R & D) and Ministry of Education and Science.
The aim of CETMAR is to improve the conditions for sustainable development of marine resources and in this context, contribute to improving the efficiency of the sectors of fisheries, aquaculture, processing of fish products and all those activities directly or indirectly related to the use and exploitation of the sea and its resources.
The principal strategies are aimed at achieving greater interagency cooperation and integration of interdisciplinary R & D resources of their environment, and greater involvement of the productive sector in the development of objective research, development and technological innovation.
