Export vocation
Argentina is positioned worldwide as the 10th net exporter of fishing products, with around US$ 1.75 billion (INDEC, 2019). At the national level, this The Argentine export basket is diversified in more than 70 species, especially hake and squid, throughout the multiple Argentine ports. Among the latter, we would particularly like to highlight the Port of Mar del Plata, which accounts for nearly 45% of the catches, followed by Puerto Madryn (16%), Rawson (9%), Puerto Deseado (9%) and Ushuaia (6%). Among the more than 100 destinations reached by Argentine fishing, China, Spain and the United States stand out in importance, which together account for nearly 50% of exports.
