Our primary product is Yellowtail, a popular product in international sashimi and sushi markets. Yellowtail goes under various names in Europe including Hiramasa, Hamachi, and Seriole. It is a warm water fish that can only be farmed in Northern Europe in specialized on-shore production facilities.
Yellowtail is a wonderful seafood product with a delicate taste and texture. It is a favorite among many chefs and consumers across Europe and internationally.
As the Yellowtail are produced in a closed environment on land, our Yellowtail are 100% free of parasites. Our product is therefore the optimal choice for raw fish consumption.
Our fish is based on sustainable methods in closed circuit facilities on land. Discharge from the facility is small compared to sea pen production. There is no risk of fish escape. Stable conditions in a controlled production environment also gives good conditions for fish welfare.
We farm our Yellowtail from fertilized eggs produced at our fingerling farm i Denmark. They are later moved to Sashimi Royal where they grow to a size up to 3-5 kilos.? As of 2017 we will harvest Yellowtail every week of the year, thus providing a continued supply of high quality and fresh product to our customers.
Our primary mission is to make a delicate and sought-after seafood product available to the local EU market. Sashimi Royal is the first large-scale, land-based facility in the EU that produces Yellowtail. Total annual production is 1200 tons with market deliveries from 2017. We have been farming Yellowtail for the past two years and refined the production method to achieve good spawning and fish welfare.
The Sashimi Royal production facility is located near the port of Hanstholm in Denmark, on a 30.000 m2 plot located next to the shore. Hanstholm has a long and proud history in the seafood industry with a range of companies working with seafood products.
