The GOAL conference has a 17-year history of convening the world’s aquaculture thought leaders to discuss shared responsibilities and goals. In a 2017 post-conference survey, 69% of respondents said they are “extremely likely” to recommend GOAL to an industry colleague.
GOAL 2018 will be held at the Hilton Colon Guayaquil in Guayaquil, Ecuador, from Sept. 25 to 27. The hotel, which features almost 45,000 square feet of meeting space and 294 guest rooms, is located just minutes from the airport, convention center and a number of other hotels. There are also rooms at the nearby Courtyard Marriott. Guayaquil is Ecuador’s largest city and is the hub of its prosperous shrimp-farming and -processing sector. This is the first time in seven years that GOAL is being held in Latin America and the first time that GOAL has been held in Ecuador. The conference is being co-hosted by Ecuador’s La Cámara Nacional de Acuacultura, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
